—ap·par′en·cy noun Synonyms: likely, presumable, probable, seeming. The apparent is that which appears, either that which is manifest, visible, certain, or that which is merely in seeming; as, the apparent motion of the sun around the earth. Apparent indicates less assurance than probable and more than seeming. See EVIDENT. Antonyms: doubtful, dubious, improbable, unimaginable, unlikely.
