1. Any of several lilyworts (genus Hemerocallis), with lanceolate leaves, and large flowers on a round thick scape, usually lasting one day. Two species, H. fulva, tawny red, and H. flava, bright yellow, are commonly cultivated.
2. A common cultivated lilywort (genus Hosta) of Asian origin, with large, broad, ovate or oblong leaves, and generally white flowers.
