Definition of: deadlock

(ded′lok′) noun
1. A lock worked from the outside by a key and from the inside by a handle or the like.
2. A lock in which the bolt has to be turned in each direction by a key: opposed to springlock.
3. A block or stoppage of business, as in a legislative or other body, caused by the refusal of opposing parties to cooperate.
