(disk) noun
1. A flat plate of any material that is circular, or approximately circular; also, any surface that is flat and circular, or apparently so: the disk of a planet.
2. Biol. Any approximately flat circular outgrowth, organ, or structure of a planet or animal: in this sense usually spelled disc.
3. In the Roman Catholic Church, a paten or plate for the eucharistic bread.
