(dis′lō·kā′shən) noun
1. Anat. The partial or complete displacement of one or more of the bones of a joint.
2. The act of displacing or disarranging, or the resulting condition; disarrangement; disorder.
3. Geol. A fault in or a shifting of rocks, generally followed by a displacement on either side.
4. Physics A disturbance of the normal atomic or molecular configuration in a crystal, revealed by changes in crystal properties.
