1. A suggestion or hint about some person or thing; an indirect aspersion; insinuation: usually in derogation.
2. Law In pleading, an explanatory phrase employed to make a previous phrase more explicit, as in saying “the perjured villain, meaning the plaintiff,” in which the phrase “meaning the plaintiff” is an innuendo.
