1. Belonging or relating to any of the thirteen popes named Leo.
2. Designating a medieval Latin verse, or an English verse resembling it, in which the final syllable of a line rimes with the one in the middle: so called after Leo of St. Victor, a medieval monk who used such rimes in his verse. [<L leoninus]
