Definition of: masthead

(mast′hed′, mäst′-) noun
1. Naut. a The top of a lower mast. b The head or top of a mast to which a flag is raised. c A sailor acting as look–out at the masthead.
2. That section of a newspaper or other periodical, published in each edition, stating the ownership, officers, and staff conducting it, the advertising, editorial, and publishing offices, etc.
