(mul′tə·pleks) adjective
1. Multiple; manifold.
2. Telecom. Designating a system for the simultaneous transmission of two or more messages in either or both directions over the same wire, as in telegraphy or telephony.
3. Phot. Designating a method based upon the stereoscopic principle: three cameras are used, together with auxiliary equipment designed to facilitate the construction of accurate maps.
