(nēd′l·point′) noun
1. A sharp–pointed attachment for the leg of a drawing instrument; anything resembling the point of a needle, as spires of cathedrals or crystals of rock.
2. Lace made entirely with a sewing needle rather than bobbins, and worked with buttonhole and blanket stitches on a paper pattern.
3. A stitch used in needle tapestry, or embroidered needle tapestry itself.
