Definition of: Octobrist

(ok·tō′brist) noun
One of that faction in the Russian Duma which supported the czar in reform measures proposed in October, 1905. The proposals were only partly carried out and the party soon disappeared, its remnants supporting monarchical ideas, so that the term came to designate a reactionary.
