(par′ə·sim′pə·thet′ik) adjective Anat.
Designating that part of the autonomic nervous system originating in the cranial and sacral regions of the spinal cord. Its functions include constriction of the pupil, dilation of the blood vessels and salivary glands, slowing of the heart, and stimulation of the digestive and genitourinary systems: also called cranio-sacral.
