(pər·sen′tīl, -til) noun Stat.
Any of 100 points measured within the range of a plotted variable, each of which denotes that percentage of the total cases lying below it in value: thus, l, 2, 3, etc., percent of the cases are in the first, second, third, etc., percentile. Also called centile.
