(ron′dəl, -del) noun
A form of French verse consisting of 13 or 14 lines, in two stanzas of four and one of five or six lines, the first two lines being repeated, as a refrain, in the seventh and eighth lines, and again in the thirteenth and fourteenth. The names rondeau and rondel are often used interchangeably in English. [<F. See RONDEAU.]
