Definition of: zoospore

(zō′ə·spôr, -spōr) noun
1. Bot. A motile spore destitute of any cell wall, produced particularly among some algae and fungi: they move sometimes in an ameboid manner, but more frequently they are provided with cilia, by the lashing of which the spore is propelled through the water.
