I’ve heard this said “everything has come up trumps.” Is that good or bad?

I’ve heard this said “everything has come up trumps.” Is that good or bad?
It means to have what is needed to deal with a challenging situation. Just as in card games like Bridge, 500, Euka where a particular suite is trumps. A small trump -say a 2 will defeat an Ace of a non trump suite – it has come up trumps
