1. Pathol. A malignant neoplasm or tumor, characterized by a morbid proliferation of epithelial cells in various parts of the body, spreading into adjacent tissue, with consequent progressive degeneration which often ends fatally: also called carcinoma, sarcoma.
2. Any inveterate and spreading evil.
