(kôr′əs, kō′rəs) noun
1. A musical composition, usually in parts, for performance by a large group of singers.
2. A body of singers, or singers and dancers, who perform together in concerts, opera, ballet, musical comedy, etc.
3. Any group of individuals singing or speaking something together simultaneously; also, that which is thus uttered.
4. The part of a work written for or performed by a chorus; the burden or refrain of a song, which others join a soloist in singing.
5. In ancient Greece, a ceremonial dance, accompanied by the singing of odes, and performed in honor of Dionysus.
6. In Greek drama, a body of actors who through song, dance, and dialog commented upon and sometimes took part in the main action of a play; also, the parts of a play so performed.
