1. An ecclesiastical body of the Church of England, similar to a synod, but meeting only at the call of some authority: the Convocation of Canterbury.
2. A voluntary convention of Protestant Episcopal clergy and laymen from a division of a diocese, meeting unofficially to discuss and promote church measures; also, the district thus organized.
