1. The administrative department of the British government having the management of the public revenue.
2. In England, an ancient common law court taking cognizance of matters connected with the public revenue. In 1873, this Court of Exchequer was made a division of the High Court of Justice, and in 1881 this division was merged in the Queen's Bench division.
