Definition of: feedback

(fēd′bak′) noun
1. Electronics The transfer of a portion of the energy from the output circuit of an electronic system to the input circuit; when properly controlled and in correct phase, it is positive or regenerative; reversed or improper forms anywhere in the system are negative or degenerative.
2. A similar energy transfer occurring in certain biological processes, as in the transmission of stimuli along an interconnected system of nerve fibers.
