1. A wooden match having a bulb of inflammable material at its end and not extinguishable by wind.
2. A flare used as a railroad signal.
3. Mech. A spirally grooved cone, as in a watch or a spring clock, about which is wrapped a chain or cord, which is also wound about a cylindrical barrel containing or driven by a spiral spring.
