1. Pertaining to or of the nature of a period; characterized by periods; recurring after a definite interval; cyclic.
2. Gram. Belonging to a sentence that is grammatically complete.
3. In rhetoric, pertaining to or expressed in complete sentences: pertaining especially to a style in which several clauses hang upon one principal statement or sentence; hence, rhetorically elaborate. See also PERIODIC SENTENCE.
4. Math. a Of or pertaining to curves with ordinates repeated at equal distances along the abscissa. b Of or pertaining to the function of a real variable such that a graph of the function is identical within each subinterval.
