(pō′kər) noun
Any of several games of cards in which the players bet on the value of the cards, usually five, dealt to them, and he whose hand contains the group of highest value wins the entire sum wagered, provided he has not dropped out of the betting. The groups usually recognized, in the ascending order of value, are the pair, two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full hand or house, four of a kind, straight flush, royal flush.
