1. Condition as regards heat or cold.
2. The degree of heat in a body or substance, as measured on the graduated scale of a thermometer. See table below.
3. Sensible heat of the human body; also, excess of this above the normal.

To convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius (Centigrade): Subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit reading, multiply by 5, and divide the product by 9. Example: 65o F. -32 = 33; 33 × 5 = 165; 165 ÷ 9 = 18.3° C. To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit: Multiply the Celsius reading by 9, divide the product by 5, add 32. Example: 30o C. × 9 = 270; 270 ÷ 5 = 54; 54 + 32 = 86° F.
