1. In Roman mythology, the goddess of spring, bloom, and beauty: identified with the Greek Aphrodite.
2. A statue or painting of Venus.
3. A lovely woman.
4. Astron. The second planet from the sun, the most brilliant object in the heavens except the sun and the moon. It moves in an orbit between those of Mercury and Earth at a mean distance from the sun of about 67,000,000 miles, completing a revolution in 224.7 days. Its diameter is about 7,700 miles and it has no satellites.
