I kinda get what it means, but WTH? I don’t get why. MAKES NO SENSE.
The expression indicates that something is not being said seriously. The intent is sarcastic, ironic, or playful. The expression probably comes from the idea of biting one’s tongue to suppress laughter.
In the 19th century to poke your left cheek with your tongue was a secret signal to others that the speaker was being insincere or ironic.
