i found this symbol and i have no idea what it means
It means plus or minus.

She means it could be either minus or plus(SHE HAS A BIT OF A BRAIN PROBLEM mING)
In a scientific or mathematical value or result, ± is used to indicate variability on either side of a value. For instance, “The weights of the mice were 120 ± 5 grams.” This means that the mice weighed anywhere from 115 to 125 grams.
