Youre Barmy means you are a bit crazy. I have been led to believe that the words origins come from Oakwood Hospital – it used to be the largest mental hospital in england and was located in Barming. The locals used to call the patients ‘barmy’ and so goes the phrase.

I can confirm that you are absolutely correct Holly. The Hospital
has now been converted into very nice apartments.
