1. The dimension or degree to which anything is extended; compass; reach; size; range; also, the limit to which anything reaches.
2. Size within given bounds: the extent of his power.
3. Law A writ directing the appraisal of lands at their yearly value, and their delivery to a creditor for a limited time to satisfy his claim.
4. Logic Extension (def. 4).
