1. The state or quality of being intense; relative strength or degree of a quality or force; intenseness.
2. Physics The force, energy, or quantity of action of any physical agent, generally estimated by its ratio to the space within which it acts, or to the quantity of matter on which it acts: the intensity of pressure of a fluid, the intensity of gravity.
