The Dictionary diagrees with you

nig-nog (plural nig-nogs). (contemptuous, good humored, non-racial, slang) A foolish person; hence, a raw and unskilled recruit. Cf. ning-nong. [quotations â–½].

I was brought up in North Staffordshire and my friend was born in Worcestershire. We both recall a definition from 50+ years ago which I cannot find online nor in a dictionary and which no-one else has heard.
NIGNOG - meaning a \"pregnant fairy\". Has anyone else heard this phrase? I definitely saw it in a dictionary.

You are quite correct. The definition was in a page of the Shakespearean book I read at school. Pregnant fairy. Can\'t remember which one. But like all the PC in this country its been taken out of context.
The word Gay used to mean someone lighthearted , dare not use it now.

I was brought up in North Notts where the term was used to describe someone who had done something stupid and yes we said a pregnant fairy(didn\'t do Shakespeare then). I used it in front of my middle aged daughter the other day and she was appalled, as I would be if I had thought of it as the definition given. Changed times bring changed vocabulary I guess.
