(ven′y) noun Law
1. The place or neighborhood where a crime is committed or a cause of action arises; the county or political division from which the jury must be summoned and in which the trial must be held.
2. The clause, usually at the beginning of a declaration or indictment, indicating the county in which the proceeding is pending.
3. A clause in an affidavit, stating where it was made and sworn to.
