3. Deprivation of some quality, power, rank, etc.: disable, disbar, discolor, disenfranchise.
4. Not: disadvantageous, disloyal, distasteful.
5. Completely; thoroughly (simple intensive with an already negative word): disannul. Also: di- before b, d, l, m, n, r, s, v, and usually before g, as in digress, direct, diverge (in Late Latin this was often changed back to the full form, as in dismiss, disrupt); dif- before f, as in differ.
