1. Any of various reptiles (suborder Sauria), as an agama, basilisk, chameleon, gecko, glass snake, horned toad, iguana, monitor, or skink. Lizards commonly have an elongate, scaly body, a long tail, and four legs, but the latter may be reduced to two or may be rudimentary or absent.
