1. A body suspended from a fixed point, and free to swing to and fro.
2. Such a device, consisting of rod and bob, and serving, by oscillation under the forces of gravity plus momentum, to regulate the rate of running of a clock. [<NL <L, neut. of pendulus. See PENDULOUS.]
